PRESIDENTS MESSAGE 04-08

I want to advise everyone that your 2008 dues statement is in the mail! Dan mailed them out already. We will try to send out a back up dues statement electronically as well so if you don’t receive it in one form you’ll get it in the other. Please let me know ASAP if you have any issues.

Our annual BBQ on May 9, 2008 will be hosted by Stanislaus Co. Sheriff’s Office. Take a look at the flyer on our website.

At the July meeting we will try to get Kevin Means back to finish up his talk from our January meeting.

The update on Air Asset Day 2008,  is that it will be held again at Napa CHP. I want to welcome some new faces up at Napa CHP: Captain Craig Oliver, Lt. Tracy Lemas who replaced recently retired Lt. Mike Venning and Sgt. Kurt Chaney. I have it on good authority this crew is the best of the best and outstanding to work with.

The Air Asset Day program consists of training in the morning, a catered lunch and finally our traditional raffle for neat products. Vendors will be on hand to support our BBQ and show you the latest and greatest in Air Support equipment. Please plan on spending time with them during the BBQ. We have allowed for breaks between events so you can spend time with our vendors as well as time admire the fleet of aircraft on display.

GOLD MEMBER VENDORS: I need your logo for our banner that will be displayed during our events. Please contact me so we can arrange the format to send it to me in order to be placed on the banner. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do for you as a Gold Member. I will be working with our web master to place your logos on our start up web page.  I’m also working on several other ideas and would like to encourage your input.

Vendors: Please contact Dee at Napa CHP (707-257-0103) to make sure you have a table and power if needed. Any Vendors wanting to contribute anything towards the BBQ please contact me at you earliest convenience.

Members: We need a head count so PLEASE let us know ASAP so we can order the correct amount of food as we don’t want anyone to go away hungry!

We moved this event to September so that we have better luck with weather conditions. Last year our luck almost ran out, due to late fog, we had to delay our event for our members flying in.

Please remember to mark your calendars and invite your administrators to our event so they can see what a valuable organization this is. This is YOUR Air Asset Day, use it to your benefit. Every year we hear an administrator comment, “…Why don’t we have this?” after seeing another agency’s equipment or our vendor’s display.

I will be giving you more updates, as we get closer to Sept. 12. I look forward to seeing all our membership and their administrators at this wonderful event.

Dave Tozer, President ALEO
